03Custom or off-the-shelf

Not every process needs a custom app

We tell you honestly when a tool you already have is enough. Often Microsoft 365 and Power Automate solve the problem, and we help with that too.

A custom application makes sense when

  • The process has many rules, exceptions or steps that don’t fit a standard workflow
  • Data has to flow between several systems: ERP, CRM, tax authority, your own apps
  • You need clear roles, a full audit trail and control over your data
  • You want to own the code, without per-user licences that grow with your team

Off-the-shelf software is enough when

  • The workflow is simple: one request, one approval, one notification
  • You already work in Microsoft 365 and the data lives in SharePoint or Excel
  • The software you use already has the feature, it just isn’t configured
  • In that case we help you set up what you have, since we also manage Microsoft 365

Where do we start?

With a single process: the one that takes the most time or causes the most errors. We automate it, look at the result, and only then move on to the next.

We already use Microsoft 365. Does a custom app still make sense?

Sometimes it doesn’t. If the workflow is simple, we build it with Power Automate and what your licence already includes. We recommend a custom app only when the rules, integrations or volume call for it.

How reliable is AI document processing?

Data extraction is fast, but we don’t leave it unchecked. We set confidence thresholds, and uncertain cases go to a person for review before they enter the system.

Does the team have to learn a new program?

As little as possible. The apps run in the browser, work on phones too, and notifications arrive in email or Teams, where people already work.

Who owns the code?

You do. The code is versioned and documented, and you can hand it over to another team at any time. You don’t depend on us.
